Description

You get one of these beautiful dried jewel beetles, sternocera ruficornis, from Thailand. These are A1 quality (top quality) specimens packaged on cardboard for easy transport and are about 1.5 to 1.75 inches long. These jewel beetles are a striking bright iridescent green color. The coloration in these jewel beetles is structural which means microscopic variations in the surface skin of the beetle alter the reflection of light. Structural color is more stable and will not fade, unlike regular pigment colors. Structural color is often responsible for the more bright and intense types of natural creature colors like on peacock feathers. Jewel beetles are natural items with natural variations so each has a slightly different coloration and size. Photos are stock photos, you will not receive these exact specimens but ones very similar.

All insects are collected legally and sustainably with all required import permits and regulations properly followed.
