Description

These gar scales have been drilled with a hole for use as beads or in craft.  Gar fish have very hard scales that are actually made of bone and dentine similar to teeth. These scales protect the gar fish from predators. The scales have considerable variation in shape and are like hard pieces of bone, many with a featherlike pattern on one side. These gar scales have been cleaned but retain their natural coloration of off white with some variation in color between scales.  Gar scales will be approximately within that size range but I do not guarantee every size in the listed range will be present. Sometimes we will have mostly scales in the smaller or larger end of the range.  Photos are stock photos showing typical scales.  Foreign customers, my apologies but due to US export law, we are not able to ship wildlife product out of country.
