You will receive 1 of these African Turbo TURBO SARMATICUS shells. They have been polished smooth to reveal the natural lustrous pearly copper colored nacre of the inner shell. Smooth and shiny , these shells are approximately 2.5 inch to 3 inches long with mouth opening sizes of about 1 3/8 inch to 1 5/8 inches long. Turbo shells are natural items and some may have minor imperfections and variations, each shell has its own unique subtleties of color and pattern.

Turbo shells are often used as hermit crab shelters. However, African turbo shells are not a preferred shell for hermit crabs due to this shell’s wider mouth and more squat shape compared to other types of turbo shell. Nevertheless, sometimes a larger crab will choose an African turbo and due to this shell’s great beauty, many crab owners do offer a few African turbo shells hoping they will be chosen.
